Random propagation times for ultrasonics through polyethyilene

چکیده
Low power ultrasonics are used for testing high density polyethylene pipe material. Attenuation and velocity give valuable information on the material in situ without damages. In this paper we revisit recent data frequency band (4,10) megahertz. We prove that propagation is equivalent to random delays following stable probability laws. Moreover, emergence of a companion noise non-detectable by devices compliant with law conservation energy.

Ultrasonics propagation properties of collagen.
Ultrasonic absorption measurements in the range 0.5--56 MHz, and measurements of velocity at 8.87 MHz, were made in collagen suspensions in which molecular integrity was preserved, in a range of concentrations 0.07--0.7% by weight, at 10 and 20 degrees C. Absorption and velocity values, per unit concentration, exhibited by collagen are much greater in magnitude than those exhibited by globular ...
متن کاملPropagation Models and Fitting Them for the Boolean Random Sets
In order to study the relationship between random Boolean sets and some explanatory variables, this paper introduces a Propagation model. This model can be applied when corresponding Poisson process of the Boolean model is related to explanatory variables and the random grains are not affected by these variables. An approximation for the likelihood is used to find pseudo-maximum likelihood esti...
متن کاملConstructing Random times through Multiplicative Systems
The aim of this work is to demonstrate, with the help of multiplicative systems introduced by Meyer in [15], that for any given positive F-supermartingale G such that G∞ = 0, there exists a random time τ on some extension of the filtered probability space such that the Azéma supermartingale associated with τ is given by G. This construction is subsequently extended to the case of several correl...
متن کاملLight propagation through random hyperbolic media.
We analyze electromagnetic field propagation through a random medium that consists of hyperbolic metamaterial domains separated by regions of normal "elliptic" space. This situation may occur in a problem as common as 9 μm light propagation through a pile of sand, or as exotic as electromagnetic field behavior in the early universe immediately after the electroweak phase transition. We demonstr...
متن کاملOptimal beam forming for laser beam propagation through random media
Focusing optical beams on a target through random propagation media is very important in many applications such as free space optical communications and laser weapons. Random media effects such as beam spread and scintillation can degrade the optical system’s performance severely. Compensation schemes are needed in these applications to overcome these random media effects. In this research, we ...
